A Thoughtfully Designed Travel Retreat

Every detail of this experience is intentionally crafted and thoughtfully designed, from the cultural excursions to the creative workshops. Even the selection of our guests is considered to ensure a cohesive, supportive, and inspiring group.

The retreat is intentionally limited to a small group, allowing for meaningful conversation, flexible pacing, and attentive care in our interactions with local communities. We’ll be sharing a beautiful house together, with each guest enjoying their own private room, creating a balance of shared experience and personal space.

Our days are designed to flow between immersive group activities, guided reflection and process art sessions, and moments for personal exploration, so you can fully absorb and integrate the richness of Oaxaca.

Experience

Oaxaca is a place where art, tradition, and daily life are deeply intertwined. Throughout this travel expereince, we will spend time learning from artisans, visiting cultural spaces, and reflecting on how these experiences shape our own creative practice.

Rather than rushing from place to place, we move intentionally, allowing space for conversation, curiosity, and thoughtful integration.

This retreat is designed for artists and creatives who value cultural humility, creative process, and meaningful travel.

Live

With tours through local street art, cultural food experiences, archeological sites, and with native artisans, this experience is exceptionally authention and intentionally crafted to honor the place that welcomes us.

Real

As travelers in Oaxaca, we approach each experience with humility and gratitude. Our guides are local artisans, families, and cultural experts who generously share their knowledge and traditions, and we prioritize fair compensation for their time and work.

Breathe

While our days include many rich cultural experiences, we have intentionally built in time for reflection, process-based artmaking, and quiet integration. Each participant will receive thoughtfully curated creative supplies to support creative responses throughout the retreat.

Lodging

Five nights in a private home located in Oaxaca’s City Market area, featuring a shared courtyard and terrace with space to gather and unwind. The home includes 10 private bedrooms, each with a double bed and a locking door for comfort and privacy.

Guests may reserve a room for themselves or choose to share with a friend or fellow traveler at a reduced rate, offering flexibility in both experience and investment.

Meals

A selection of meals is included throughout the retreat, offering a thoughtful introduction to Oaxaca’s rich culinary traditions. This includes breakfast prepared in our home by a local chef, meals shared with local families, guided food experiences, and select restaurant visits.

There is also intentional time built in for independent exploration, allowing guests to enjoy Oaxaca’s vibrant food scene at their own pace and choose additional meals based on personal preference.

Cultural Experiences

Guided Tours

A variety of guided cultural, archaeological, and artisan experiences, thoughtfully chosen to support and benefit local families and artists. These include visits to artisan communities, markets, and significant cultural sites, offering meaningful opportunities to learn directly from those who live and carry these traditions.

Workshops & Creative Integration

Throughout the retreat, you’ll participate in guided arts integration sessions designed to help you reflect on and respond to your experiences. These process-based workshops focus on exploration, journaling, and creative expression rather than finished products.

Each participant will receive thoughtfully curated creative supplies to support this work throughout the week.

Wellness

Wellness and reflection are gently woven throughout the week, with optional morning yoga on the terrace to begin each day with intention.

Each participant will receive a thoughtfully designed travel art journal for sketching, writing, and creative reflection. Optional Reiki sessions with an in-house practitioner are also available for those seeking additional restoration.
